Adaptation of inkjet printing to the industrial scale
- High-speed inkjet printing (direct marketing, newspapers, packaging, etc.).
- Assess quality and drying kinetics.
- Understand ink behaviour on the paper surface.
- Laboratory developments that can be used directly on industrial machines.
The little story of the pilot
Imagine a satellite observing human activity on the earth’s surface. To do so it must execute dynamic movements, coordinating with an extremely small target object in relation to the observation distance. This is the thought process that led to development of a unique pilot to capture and assess the behaviour of ink at the substrate surface. An industrial inkjet head prints high-precision graphics at high speed. To complete the observation, a camera tracks changes in the ink drops at the paper surface almost instantaneously.
Thanks to the i-SpeedJET, specific substrates have been developed for high-speed inkjet printing. It is compatible with water-based inks and provides a reliable assessment of quality and runnability with ½ A4 pages, making it unique.
When only a small amount of test material is available, or inversely a large range of tests are required, this is the ideal tool!

Test form
The CTP can offer a high-quality test form designed for the analyses required, and can customise it according to your needs and specifications.
Analyses
- Printing quality: Optical density, dot gain and gradation, legibility of text and barcodes, print-through, unevenness, gloss and restitution of images
- Runnability : Simulation of 100% drying and up to 250% ink coverage
- Ink behaviour on the paper surface: Visualisation and analysis of the spreading and penetration of the ink at the paper surface.
Options
- The pilot can be relocated and used directly in mills to accelerate the development of substrates.
- To perform tests using inks that are not compatible with Kyocera heads, the CTP can offer you its JEEP pilot, which has 4 inkjet printing heads in a more modular configuration. (Speed 5 m/min, up to 4 colours, 300 x 300 dpi, A4 format; UV, IR and hot-air drying).
