  • Application of functional fluids (conductive , insulants and other functions)

The little story of the pilot

As we explore the new and sometimes winding roads of printed electronics, every now and then we come across obstacles!
The idea of the “JEEP” came into being as a result of one such obstacle. It takes the form of a pilot that enables a variety of inkjet technologies and functional fluids to be used. The JEEP provides a means of prototyping paper electronics demonstrators rapidly in the laboratory.
Its versatile design enables it to adapt continuously to the latest developments in inkjet technology and techniques for applying ink or fluid in small or large quantities.
With A4 format, the surface area covered is large enough to be able to produce a wide range of demonstrators.

Characteristics

The printing technologies currently operating on the JEEP can be used to transfer conductive fluids, insulants and other functions in small quantities (3 picolitres) and in quantities up to a few grammes.
The minimum product quantity is 30 ml.
The modular inkjet print heads can be placed in-line to cover a zone with four superimposed applications within the shortest possible time and space, or else be arranged so as to cover a large area with a single product.
The graphic design, based on lines, solid blocks or dots, can be adapted according to needs.

  • Substrate format: 297 mm x 210 mm
  • Print format: 280 mm x 200 mm
  • Substrates: paper, plastic, board, composite, other (contact us)
  • Thickness: 50 µm to 2500 µm
  • Speed: 0.1 to 5 m/min
  • Drying: hot air, UV, IR
  • Graphic design: produced by the CTP in consultation with the client
  • Corona treatment possible

Possible studies

  • Production of prototypes for electronized printing with between one and 20 units.
  • For a larger quantity, the CTP has other facilities at its disposal.
  • Four-colour 300 x 300 dpi graphic inkjet printing.
  • Adaptation of the JEEP printing equipment concept for much more specific, exotic applications.

Option

Possibility of studying the ink formulation beforehand.
