Making the best deinking processes
Optimise your deinking lines, test new raw materials
- Simulate all types of deinking/ recycling processes
- Assess the potential of new raw materials
- Evaluate new treatments (chemical, mechanical, enzymatic)
- Implement new configurations
- Validate laboratory tests before industrial trials
Generate Value...
You want to improve the efficiency of your deinking/recycling facility and reduce production costs, CTP provides a unique tool to simulate your recycling/deinking lines (the Recycled Fibres Pilot Plant) and its internationally recognized independent expertise since the late 1970s.As examples, the Recycled Fibres Pilot Plant was used to :
- Validate the choice of deinking chemistry to improve yield of the process while maintaining the optical properties of the deinking pulp: yield gain of 1 point in pre-flotation lads into savings of €850 000/year for a plant producing 350 000t/year.
- Help investment decisions for new equipment.
- Determine the potential of a given paper for recycling grade and the process to be implemented to obtain the best quality at the lowest cost.
Context and implementation
The pilot plant for recycled fibres is a very flexible tool, its configuration can be easily adapted to each type of test by interchanging the connections between the different stages. The range of equipment available allows to work all types of raw materials, to apply mechanical or chemical treatments in conventional or unusual conditions, all in a perfectly safe environment. The heterogeneity of the raw material is well known as the source of variations in the quality of the pulp produced and the resulting losses. The pilot plant for recycled fibres, specially designed for low production levels, offers the advantage of carrying out tests with strict control of the raw material and even in some cases working with industrial paper for recycling (in bulk or in bales) or pulp taken directly from the mill. The Recycled Fibres Pilot Plant can be organized to simulate original or conventional processes and has the unique feature of being able to work continuously with internal water recirculation (process water closure).

Content of services
The services offered by the CTP for the Recycled Fibres Pilot include assistance in defining the test programme, carrying out the tests and sampling throughout the process. On request, CTP can add analyses of water quality and pulp quality (mechanical and optical properties, stickies and stickies properties, etc).

Deliverables
CTP provides a comprehensive and complete study report ranging from deinked/recycled pulp production for paper machine testing to a complete balance (yield, brightness, shade, ink, dirt specks, stickies, fibre morphology characteristics, mechanical properties, production cost, etc.) with comments and recommandations.
