Patents and their exploitation

A policy at the service of industry!

The CTP's mission, translated into a strategy, is to create value in the fibrous materials industry through a scientific and technological innovation process that incorporates product and market dimensions throughout the development phases. The organization, centered around R&D roadmaps, generates results daily that positively impact our industry environmentally, economically, and socially, thus addressing the major challenges of our society.

These roadmaps lead to two main types of activities that allow:
  1. - optimization of existing technologies or products,
  2. - or developing, and implementing radically new technologies that will profoundly transform our industry.

The CTP's Intellectual Property (IP) policy was harmonized in 2019, along with the clarification of access rights to results for industrial partners co-funding the projects. In addition to enhancing the appeal and visibility of the CTP's work through active patent portfolio management, the implemented policy ensures the transfer and industrial utilization of the associated technologies and know-how, providing funders with a competitive advantage.

The CTP's patent portfolio consists of about a hundred active patents that protect the concepts on which the CTP and its partners work, in countries where the paper production and markets are most significant.
