Air permeance

General informations

The equipment in the Physical Testing Laboratory can be used to perform air permeance tests.

The tests can be performed on the paper or on finished products, such as printed papers, packaging, specialty papers, labels, etc.

These tests can be implemented after standardised conditioning, or after heat-, moisture- or cold-ageing.

Technical Data and Achievements

The following air permeance tests can be performed in the Physical Testing Laboratory:

• Air permeance, Bendtsen method, in accordance with standard ISO 5636-3
• Air permeance, Gurley method, in accordance with standard ISO 5636-5
• Air permeance, Bekk method
• Air bubble microporosity and equivalent pore radius, in accordance with standard BSI 3321, or standards from the NF EN 868 series8
